Doug Injured in Freak Fall. An Update And A Word To All Friends & Fans

Thank You! I am so deeply grateful and touched…
.
A special note to thank all family, friends and fans who have reached out with their messages of care, concern and flat out love after my near death fall last month that nearly sent me off into the great unknown. While out of town and appearing as a guest artist at a private event last June 22nd, I quite unintentionally fell off of a backstage balcony and down a long flight of stairs. This poor error in spacial judgement resulted in my receiving two Subarachnoid Skull Hemmorages along with several broken bones and ribs.
.
According to the responding EMT’s. I was not expected to make it. Conversely, they and the hospital team quite literally saved my life.
.
Four weeks later, I have apparently not only begun building back, but seem to be doing so at a remarkably rapid pace according to my team. Call it stamina, or determination, or just plain Rock-n-Roll attitude, though while I still have a ways to go… I am doing it. Hands, voice and most importantly the drive are indeed coming back. And while I ask that you accept my sincere apologies for the live show cancellations for the time being (still not certain on that… to be announced), please be assured that nothing will keep me from picking up a guitar and singing for you all as soon as I am able to deliver what you have come to expect ad deserve.
.
Know as well that I am so deeply grateful for all of the emails, messages and get well cards that I have received from all of you. You really do mean the world to me. I mean that with all of my heart. And I treasure each and everyone of you.
.
Rock n Roll doesn’t go down easily… and I am very, very grateful for that.
.
My sincere and deep love to you all,
.
Doug H.
